FEATUREDMaple Elementary - Megan Knight, Principal
Healthy Moves’ JumpStart program has made a powerful difference at Maple, a close-knit community with some families without transportation or access to extracurricular activities. Before the program, many students arrived at school with limited opportunities for physical activity, leading to bottled-up energy and increased behavior challenges. Now, students eagerly come at 8:00 a.m. to participate in movement and fitness activities that help them start the day energized, focused, and ready to learn. The program not only promotes physical health and the development of lifelong healthy habits, but also supports students’ social-emotional wellness and cognitive readiness for the classroom. Healthy Moves is clearly making a meaningful impact on student behavior, engagement, and overall well-being.
